About

I'm Amar Hamed, a Registered Midwife and the founder of Sakina for Women.

My journey into midwifery came from a belief in holistic, woman-centred care, and that every woman, whatever her background, should feel safe, empowered and supported through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

I specialise in care that is culturally safe and evidence-based, particularly for women from diverse and underrepresented communities. My approach is built on respect, informed choice and trust.

Whether through antenatal education, homebirth support, postnatal care or breastfeeding guidance, my goal is to restore peace and confidence to the experience of birth and motherhood.

Because your care should be as unique as your story.

Sakina is the tranquility that steadies the heart.

It is the calm that arrives in the middle of something difficult. It is what I hope every woman feels in her pregnancy, in her birth, and in the weeks afterwards when everything is new.

How I work

Birth is natural and powerful

My role is to support, not to interfere unless needed.
